“I love that Fairhill offers programs for grandparents, in particular, grandmothers. The Ladies’ Night Out event is a great program that helps remind grandmothers that they need to take care of themselves,” said a grandmother who participates in Kinship Care programs.
The number of kinship caregivers (older adult relatives, usually grandparents, raising children) has been growing, but since the 2007-2008 recession, these numbers have spiked. According to a Pew Foundation analysis, the number of kinship families increased by 6 percent between 2007 and 2008 alone. If this describes your family, come to Fairhill Partners for education, support, and to meet other kinship caregivers in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
